CONTEST TERMS
The Big Find Contest (the “Contest”) begins at 6:00 a.m. Central Time on Sunday, May 4, 2014 and ends at 5:00 p.m. Central Time on May 11, 2014.
ELIGIBILITY
The Contest is open only to legal residents of the United States who reside in Green or Rock counties in the State of Wisconsin or Jo Daviess, Stephenson, Winnebago, Boone, McHenry, Carroll, Ogle, DeKalb, Whiteside, LaSalle or Lee counties in the state of Illinois and who are eighteen (18) years of age or older as of January 1, 2014. Employees of GateHouse Media, Inc., GateHouse Media Illinois Holdings, Inc. (collectively, “GateHouse Media”), and each of their respective divisions, affiliates, parent companies, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies (including immediate family members or those living in the same household) are not eligible to enter the Contest.
HOW TO ENTER & CONTEST RULES
No Purchase Necessary
- Look in The Big Find section which will be in the Rockford Register Star and the Journal Standard on Sunday, May 4, 2014.
- The Big Find icon
 is hidden in the advertisements throughout the pages of The Big Find section.
3. The object of the Contest is to find the logo and count the number of times the logo appears in the advertisements in the Big Find section. Icons appearing on the cover of the Big Find section do not count toward the total number of logos.
4. Go to rrstar.com/events or journalstandard.com/bigfind. Click on the The Big Find icon. Fill out the entry submission information including the number of logos the entrant found in the section.
5. Only one entry per day, per person, per email address. Incomplete, illegible or inaccurate entries are void. Entries must be received by 12:00 p.m. (C.T.) on Wednesday, May 14, 2014.
6. Entries that correctly identify the total number of times the logo appears will be entered in a random drawing to be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. If there are no correct entries, entries that are the closest, without going over the total number of logos, will be included in the random drawing.
SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION OF THE WINNER
GateHouse Media will randomly pick one (1) Grand Prize winner, one (1) First Place winner, and one (1) Second Place winner on or around May 14, 2014 from all correct entries received. Odds of winning depend on the number of correct entries received.
Decisions of GateHouse Media regarding the Contest are final.
PRIZE
Three (3) prizes will be awarded. Grand Prize is a $500 gift card from any advertiser in the Big Find Section - winner’s choice. First Place Prize is a $250 gift card from any advertiser in the Big Find Section - winner’s choice. Second Place Prize is a $150.00 gift card from gift card from any advertiser in the Big Find Section - winner’s choice.
The potential prize winner must sign an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability and Publicity Release in order to be eligible to accept the prize. No substitution or transfer of the prize will be allowed, except at the sole discretion of GateHouse Media. GateHouse Media reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. All local, state and federal taxes incurred by accepting a prize will be the sole responsibility of the prize winner. The prize has no cash value and may not be redeemed for cash at any time.
CONDITIONS
By entering, entrants agree to comply with these Official Rules and the decisions of GateHouse Media, which are binding and final, and release GateHouse Media, and each of its divisions, affiliates, parent companies, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies and anyone associated with the production of this Contest, and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability for any claims, injuries, losses or damages (including attorneys fees) of any kind arising out of their participation in this Contest or resulting from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize. The potential prize winner waives the right to assert as a cost of winning the prize any and all costs of verification and redemption or travel to redeem said prize and waives any liability or claims (including attorneys fees) which might arise from redeeming or seeking to redeem said prize. In the event of non-compliance with these Official Rules, or if prize notification is returned to GateHouse Media as undeliverable, if prize is refused or cannot be accepted for any reason, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected in a random drawing. Upon forfeiture or refusal, no compensation will be given. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to use the winner's name, photograph, likeness and/or statements attributed to winner regarding the Contest, for advertising and publicity purposes without further compensation or consent. All entries become the property of GateHouse Media. This Contest shall only be construed and evaluated according to the laws of the states of Illinois and Wisconsin, without regard to the principles of conflicts of laws and submission of any entry constitutes acceptance of such laws. This Contest is void where prohibited. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
